Philip van Aerssen studied Economics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, graduating in 2001. He was then employed by Akzo Nobel as financial controller at the Car Refinishes division. Since 2004, he has worked as relationship manager in the maritime sector, first with Fortis Bank and, after the merger in 2010, for ABN AMRO Bank in Rotterdam. As Director in the Transportation Clients department he is now mainly responsible for clients in Italy, Monaco, Switzerland and Spain.
