AVV. MARIO RICCOMAGNO is the co-founder of MR International Lawyers where he specialises in international commercial law, law of transports, international litigation and arbitration. He graduated from the Catholic University of Milan in 1972, and subsequently attended the State University of Milan, Department of Private International Law (where he was a Post-Graduate Research Fellow); the City of London Polytechnic and the Parker School, Columbia University, New York.
Mario has taught at the Faculty of Law of the University of Genoa and presented a course of lectures on contracts of navigation in 2004; lectured on issues of shipping law, multimodal transport and terminal contracts by invitation at the masters’ programmes of the Universities of Milan and Genoa; and training courses for legal practitioners organized by European Court of Arbitration, Genoa Bar and Academy of Law, Mediation and Arbitration.
He has co-authored a Code of International Conventions and books on Lawyers’ Liability Insurance; Multimodal Transport, Shipbuilding, Civil and Commercial Mediation, and Arbitration and Enterprises. He has also written fifty articles on issues concerning maritime law, transport law, international trade, arbitration and ADR that have been published in various Italian and foreign law magazines and journals. He is a Member of the Directive Staff of Il Diritto Marittimo and Member of the Editorial Staff of European Transport Law and Il Foro Padano.
He is former Member of the Council of the Section on Business Law of the International Bar Association and presently covers the offices of Treasurer of the Italian Maritime Law Association (Genoa), He is Council Member of the Italian Arbitration Association (Rome), and of the Governing Council of the International Resolution Institute (Abuja). He is also Panel Arbitrator with China Maritime Arbitration Commission (Beijing), and of Centro de Conciliaciόn y Arbitraje Maritimo de Panamά as well as Associate to the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London) and Supporting Member of the London Maritime Arbitration Association.
Mario acts as an Arbitrator appointed directly by the parties or by national and foreign courts of arbitration in maritime and commercial disputes.
